How to Display WooCommerce Categories in Your Menu

Displaying WooCommerce categories in your menu can significantly enhance your store’s navigation and user experience.In this guide, we will walk you through the steps needed to display WooCommerce categories within your menu. 

Step 1: Enable WooCommerce Categories

  1. Go to Appearance > Menus in your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Expand the Screen Options section at the top right of the page.
  3. Enable Product categories and Product tags.

Step 2: Menu Setup

  1. Create a Shop menu item.
  2. Add your Product categories as sub-menu items.
    • If your Product categories have descriptions, these will also appear as menu item descriptions. You may want to remove these descriptions at this point.

Step 3: Mega Menu Setup

  1. Hover over the Shop menu item and click the blue Mega Menu button.
  2. Set the Sub Menu Display Mode to Mega Menu – Grid Layout.
    • The grid layout will automatically populate with the sub-menu items (your product categories). Organize these items into four columns.

Step 4: Adding Icons to the Categories

  1. Add custom icons to your WooCommerce menu items. This feature is available in Max Mega Menu Pro.
    • Users of the free plugin can choose dash icons instead.
