Magento 2 uninstall Module

Today we discuss about Magento 2 uninstall module.This tutorial include how to uninstall or remove or delete module or extension completely from magento 2, uninstall or remove or delete magento 2 module or extension manually. So let start with our example.

Uninstall module with Command

First example will be how to delete or uninstall a module from command line. It will only work when you install a module from composer.

php bin/magento module:disable QaisarSatti_HelloWorld --clear-static-content
php bin/magento module:uninstall QaisarSatti_HelloWorld -r
composer update
php bin/magento setup:upgrade

Uninstall module manually

You can delete or uninstall module manually following below step. For example my module name is QaisarSatti_HelloWorld.

  • Delete the Module folder QaisarSatti from app\code
  • Remove module QaisarSatti_HelloWorld entry from setup_module table

Now run following command.

php bin/magento setup:upgrade
php bin/magento cache:flush

Magento 2 set Deploy mode

Today we discuss about Magento 2 set deploy mode. There are three deploy mode available in magento 2 Default . Developer and Production mode. These three mode have different kind of behavior. So let talk about deploy mode in details. You can set deploy mode with following command.

Set deploy mode

php bin/magento deploy:mode:set

Show deploy mode

php bin/magento deploy:mode:show

Default Mode:

This is by default when new magento 2 installed. Following behavior default mode have.

  • errors logged in var/report, not displayed
  • static created dynamically – copied! changes not visible. cached

Developer Mode:

Developer mode is min speed. You can set developer mode with following command.

php bin/magento deploy:mode:set developer
  • exceptions displayed, not logged
  • exception thrown if bad event subscriber.
  • var/report detailed
  • static created dynamically – symlinked???, changes visible immediately
  • error handler – throws exception instead of logging (notice etc.)

Production Mode

Production mode have max speed, no errors, no file generation. You can set production mode with following command.

php bin/magento deploy:mode:set production
  • admin can’t enable/disable cache types
  • errors logged, not displayed
  • static not created dynamically, must be deployed
  • not need for www-data to write, pub/static can be read-only

Magento 2 retrieve admin url

Today we talk about how in Magento 2 retrieve admin url. This tutorial included how to get admin url in case you forgot about that. This tutorial show how can you get your admin url from command and also from file. So let start with our example.

You can also retrieve the the Magento 2 Admin URL in /app/etc/env.php. Example of the relevant file content:

Using Command Line Interface(CLI):

Run the following command to retrieve admin url information.

Magento 2 reset admin password

Today we discuss how in Magento 2 reset admin password. This topic include how to reset admin password with sql query, reset password through command line interface (cli). Sometime you forgot the admin password so today we discuss how to reset your admin password. There are two ways to do that. First go to database and reset your with sql query and second create new user from command line and then login and reset the password from admin panel.

Reset with Query

Change test123 to your required password.

UPDATE `admin_user` SET `password` = CONCAT(SHA2('xxxxxxxxtest123', 256), ':xxxxxxxx:1') WHERE `username`= 'admin'

Reset From Cli

Create new user and login to admin panel and change you old user password.

<path_to_magento> php bin/magento admin:user:create --admin-user="admin" --admin-password="123123q" --admin-email="[email protected]" --admin-firstname="Admin" --admin-lastname="Admin"

Magento 2 deploy static content theme

Today we talk about how to use command line interface to do Magento 2 deploy static content theme.Doing the static content deployment is quite a headache. So today i will tell how to deploy content smartly. Magento 2 give option to deploy language example en_US, deploy area example frontend or adminhtml also the deploy the theme example blank or luma. Now we separate these with frontend and backend. This tutorial include the single theme deploy in magento 2, area base deployment example frontend or adminhtml and local base content deploy. Here is shortcut of adding the language area and theme.
-l = language
-a = area
-t = theme

Frontend theme deployment

By default you can use below command to deploy the static content. This is deploy static content for add the languages.

php bin/magento  setup:static-content:deploy

Now we add language filter so it deploy only my specific language example en_Us

php bin/magento  setup:static-content:deploy  en_US

After adding language filter we add the area specific filter so it deploy only my area language example frontend.

php bin/magento  setup:static-content:deploy  en_US -a frontend

After adding area filter we add the theme filter so it deploy only my theme example luma.

php bin/magento  setup:static-content:deploy  en_US -a frontend -t Magento/luma

Bakcend theme deployment

Using php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy en_US after adding language filter we add the area specific filter so it deploy only my area language example backend. Now it will deploy the backend content only.

php bin/magento  setup:static-content:deploy  en_US -a adminhtml

After adding area filter we add the theme filter so it deploy only my theme example backend.

php bin/magento  setup:static-content:deploy  en_US -a adminhtml-t Magento/backend

Today we talk about Magento 2 available commands. In this tutorail we listed all the command that we can use in magento 2. Command like deploy content, setup upgrade, indexing command, cache command and other command too. you can create custom command too with the help of Magento 2 create custom command.
